Advancing Marathon History: Sydney Just Went MAJOR!
2025 was the third year in a row that Always Advancing has had the honor of creating the medals for the Sydney Marathon. Each year has been special, but this year's medals were especially momentous as this was the first year the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by Asics officially became an Abbott World Marathon Major!
Sydney is now the second Abbott World Marathon Major that we produce the medals for. (Read more about our partnership with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and Chicago Event Management here.) We are very grateful to work with these distinguished events that bring together thousands of people from all over the world.
Creating the medals for Abbott World Marathon Majors is an honor in and of itself, but it means even more to us here at Always Advancing due to our partnership with AbbottWMM.
Ten years ago this month, our art team worked with AbbottWMM to create the original Six Star Medal, featured above. This prestigious display is awarded to runners who complete all of the six original Majors; each Major has an individual coin (produced by us) that runners insert into these displays. We also make displays that can house fewer coins for runners who have completed two or more Majors, like the three coin display shown above.

We are excited to continue our partnerships with both AbbottWMM as a whole and the Sydney Marathon individually. Our mission has always been to provide events with unique and high-quality awards and apparel that participants will wear with pride, and it was a very rewarding experience to see that mission come to life with Sydney's milestone 2025 medals.
